Private Family-Friendly Vatican and Sistine Chapel Tour

Francesca was great.

Overall, the tour was as advertised. The guide Francesca was knowledgeable and friendly. We booked this family tour to better engage our 10-year-old through a lengthy visit to the Vatican. Francesca was attentive to our daughter and spoke directly with her, which we appreciated. The scavenger hunt was simple but effective. The museum was packed, however, with us being slowly moved from room to room in a sea of people. There is nothing you can do about that - when in Rome!

Francesca did a great job providing information and background that was substantive and educational while at the same time giving attention to our 11yr old to keep it interesting for him. We would definitely book another tour with her. Super kind, knowledgeable, and attentive.

Our guide was GREAT with our kids!

Our guide did a really great job of making The Vatican interesting and relevant for our pre-teen kids. She was funny, knowledgeable, and a little overly honest at times, which my kids really connected with. Not everyone can keep an eleven year old’s attention in a museum (much less a church) for 3 hours - but she did!!

Excellent but missing kid aspects

Our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable and had a theme for her tour which was building up to the Sistine Chapel. She answered all our questions and was engaging. She kept us to the 3 hour timeframe. She avoided some “darker” imagery given the young kids in our group 4,8 and 10. However I expected the “treasure hunt” and prices for them per the description and we were all disappointed (especially the kids) that didn’t happen. Also worth noting the guided portion ended before the Basilica (but that could be because we hit the 3 hour mark or it was always meant to be that way, I was not sure). Overall I still recommend a tour and the small group aspect (7 of us total) was crucial given how crazy busy the museums were.

Our guide provided us with insightful information and the skip the line service allowed us to avoid the long lines on a busy day.

Despite the extreme heat, Francesca made our tour delightful & entertaining. Highly recommend.

Best Tour of our Trip!

We booked the private family tour and boy were we happy we did! We arrived 15 min early and Laura was already there waiting! From the moment we met her, she made sure to talk directly to our 8-year-old daughter. The entire tour was done with her in mind which kept her engaged the ENTIRE time! It was so nice to be able to enjoy the tour without a meltdown due to boredom. My husband and I were blown away by the amount of knowledge Laura had about the Vatican. I cannot say enough good things about the tour. It was the BEST tour of our Italian vacay!

BEST Tour Ever….

Cristina our tour guide was amazing!!! So knowledgeable, kind and patient. My 8yr old was not feeling well and was late joining us and she allowed us to wait a few minutes until he got there. She was so compassionate the entire time to ensure he was ok. The tour was perfect for adults but also appropriate for him as she kept him in engaged with a treasure hunt. Amazing tour. She felt like a member of our family. Plus, the Tour company allowed us to add a last minute family member join the tour. Will always recommend them!!!

Awesome tour with Michele!

We were a family group of 16 people ranging in age from 5-76 years old. Our guide Michele was amazing! He kept the 4 little boys engaged by having them "act out" the story of Michelangelo being commissioned to paint the Sistine Chapel and all the drama that ensued. Michele shared enough information to fascinate all the adults in the group too-- several of whom had already been to the Vatican Museums before. We were able to arrange for the tour to start at 8am, which meant that the Vatican Museums were not crowded (even during the "post-COVID" July rush), and we were able to sit in the Sistine Chapel for 10-15 minutes to admire it (with our new knowledge about what to look for and appreciate, thanks to Michele and what he taught us before we went in). Having a guide play games with the boys to keep them happy and engaged allowed all the adults to enjoy the tour that much more, because we could focus on the art rather than behavior management. Everyone agreed that the tour was fantastic and totally worth it! *note: there wasn't a "treasure hunt" or "special prize" for the kids like the description says, but it didn't matter because our guide was so great with them.

My Whole Family Loved It!

We took a multigenerational family trip to Italy last year and did this tour. It was great for the kids but also interesting for the adults as well. Everyone loved it and our guide was the best! She knew so much and was great with the kids. We would highly recommend and we'll do this again with the grandkids someday!

Bring your kids!

Was nervous to bring our 2 and 7 year old to the Vatican but our guide was perfect with handling our family. We highly recommend this private tour to every family traveling with kids.

Wonderful experience on all levels, with all ages!

We felt very fortunate that Brandon was our guide. Unable to Find a Group booking for a vatican tour, we paid a marginal increase to get a tour for our Family of 4 (ages 13, 17 And adults). Brandon speaks 5 languages fluently And is a total art history scholar/addict/nerd. And he is really a wonderful human being. He understood the capacity of the human brain for content, ready to quiz/engage the kids with what they knew from School with out ever their feeling uncomfortable; and balancing educaton with the performance requirement inheirant to the job.

Vatican Tour

This was a wonderful tour! Highly recommended! We had 12 family members, so getting anywhere on time was a challenge. Julia our tour guide, was the best! She was patient with us (as we were a little late getting to the meeting spot). Her kindness was present throughout the entire tour. Her knowledge and passion of the Vatican could be seen by all family members. Any questions we may have had was answered. I would definitely recommend Julia and the Roman Guy for any tours in Italy.
